Here's just a small sampling of projects we've helped come to life over the years.

THE FUTURE OF TRAVELLING

Partnering with Quadrante Engenharia & Vinci Airports the goal was to integrate new insights and ideas when designing a new and complex infrastructure like an airport. We focused on how to address the challenges for the travel industry today together with the introduction of new customer experiences, without disrupting the operational requisits, and merging tech and human interactions in order to connect people with solutions that are practical, efficient and personalised.

THE FUTURE OF MAKE-UP

L'Oreal partner with us to launch the Advanced Make-up Social Lab to create a new methodological approach to collect relevant insights in the make-up category. We knew that in Portugal there were some myths about makeup that need to be demystified because they influence the behaviour of women and the consequent penetration of these products as well as their use.
With a multidisciplinary team of researchers and L’Oreal executives key insights were uncovered and integrated in the marketing strategy.

The research method used is totally innovative and disruptive, we had access to very important conclusions, both for the beauty sector and for our marketing strategy, which were completely unknown.
— Inês Caldeira, General Manager of L'Oréal Portugal, in Maxima Magazine, 2016

OPEN INNOVATION CHALLENGES

Major companies like EDP, LEASEPLAN, MCDONALDS, BAYER OR BRISA presented their challenges to a group of Design Thinking Master Students from NOVA IMS. The goal was to try to create value with a disruptive innovation challenge. With a diverse and multidisciplinary background from data scientist to marketing and digital transformation experts, the team of students created in a start-up style, a dynamic environment with a real life mindset to go above and beyond in a variety of challenges - service design, digital design, new product development and process improvements.

The future of Learning

The world of higher education is evolving. We had a deep dive into the research of the future of learning and generated relevant insights to the new building of NOVA IMS in the Campolide Campus of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. 10 projects were drafted and a set of design principles defined and prioritised to help the new building development team align the design with the needs of the future of learning and teaching.
